About
Twelve‑year‑old Hana Mori hustles adults at Go in the back of Mrs. Sato’s Nakano laundromat to pay her mother’s rent. She clutches the opening move her missing father never let her use. One rainy night retired 9‑dan pro Kuroda Isao sits down, recognises the move, and the truth erupts: eight years ago he defeated Hana’s father in a single game that ruined the family. Kuroda offers to train her, but Hana’s goal is revenge—she wants to beat him and force him to speak her father’s name. Each match becomes a silent conversation, the stones echoing what the players cannot say, while the rain‑slick streets and the hum of machines frame a battle of pride, grief, and truth.
